Aims Migrant Student Services

The Aims Migrant Student Services Program’s mission is to serve, educate, and empower farm workers. It is designed to meet the academic, financial, and social needs of migrant and seasonal farm workers and their children pursuing higher education. Its vision is to improve the quality of life for farm workers through education.

Services Offered

  • Aims scholarships and stipends
  • Family engagement events and cultural celebrations

  • Other academic, financial, and student supports

Migrant Student Scholarship

You may qualify for the Aims Migrant Student Scholarship if you meet the following criteria: 

  • Migrant student per the Aims migrant student definition
  • Enrolled in six credits or more at Aims
  • Remain in good academic standing
  • Meet with the Aims Migrant Student Services Program Coordinator twice a semester
  • Attend at least two engagement events per semester

New Aims migrant students are eligible for up to a $1,000 scholarship and returning Aims migrant students are eligible for up to a $500 scholarship. Migrant students should also discuss additional available Aims scholarships with the Migrant Student Services Program Manager, including the new Aims Promise scholarship.

Who Is Eligible?

To be eligible to participate in the Migrant Student Services program, the student, or an immediate family member, must have worked as a seasonal or migrant farmworker in the past 24 months, participated in a Chapter 1 Migrant Education Program (MEP), or be eligible to participate in a National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP WIOA 167).
