Commercial Learner's Permit Course (CLP)

This program is for those who do not hold a Commercial Learner Permit (CLP). Daily classes are seven hours long, Monday through Thursday, to prepare the student to take their tests at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle). Upon earning a Commercial Learner Permit, completion of the program qualifies graduates to operate a commercial vehicle as a learner when accompanied by a driver who holds the proper class and endorsements for the vehicle on which they are training.

Class Length: 28 Hours
Course Cost: $300
Certificate Issued: Upon Completion of Course

*This course will no longer be offered starting June 2025. Students will need to obtain a CLP from the Driver's license office. Study Materials will be distributed free of charge to every student who registers for a CDL course. Learner's permits will be required to be in the possession of the student 30 days prior to the start of the driving course. Failure to produce a permit will result in the student rescheduling to a later date, pending availability.

CDL Class A

classa

The Class A program is for those holding a Commercial Learner Permit (CLP).

The Class A program includes:

  • FMCSA training on federal regulations, with which drivers must comply for Record of Duty Status (Log Book).

Students study the various aspects of operating a CMV with an instructor. Afternoon classes are held in the classroom, covering rules, regulations, and obtaining certificates. This will allow students to be more marketable for their new career in the transportation industry.

Attention

Beginning Fall 2024, a semester-long English Language Learners program will be offered. Students will engage in weekday courses to develop their skills in the English language, with an emphasis on language related to a career in commercial driving. Students will also be concurrently completing their behind-the-wheel training. Please call to schedule an interview with the program director to determine if this program is right for you.
