Peace Officer Academy Application

Applications Are Now Open for Fall 2024

Below you will find instructions for applying to the Aims Police Academy.

Important Notes:

This is a selective admission process. Be sure to check the Colorado POST Board website for any disqualifying incidents before applying.
It takes three to five weeks to compile all the required documents to apply for the Police Academy. Please plan accordingly.
As of the Fall 2024 semester, the Aims Police Academy will no longer be accepting non-sponsored students into the program.

Follow the steps below to apply to the Aims Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate program.

Step One: BEFORE Applying, Email the Aims Police Academy Department

Email crj@aims.edu and request instructions for submitting your application packet and associated documents.

Step Two: Download the Police Academy Application and Firearms documents.

Download and carefully read the Application Packet. (Note that only sponsored candidates will be accepted as of Fall 2024.)
Download and carefully read the Firearms General Information document.

Step Three: Apply to Aims Community College

If you're not already a student, apply for admission to Aims. It's free to apply and the application takes about 15 minutes to fill out.
Activate your Aims.edu student email address.

Step Four: Fill out and submit your completed application

Send your completed application, along with all required materials, to crj@aims.edu.
