Local law enforcement agencies are in need of recruits. Each agency has its own hiring process. To become a sponsored candidate, you will need to be hired by an agency that will then sponsor you for the academy.
Follow the instructions below to apply to the Aims Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate program.
Step One: Apply to Aims Community College.
- If you're not already a student, apply for admission to Aims. It's free to apply and the application takes about 15 minutes to fill out.
- Activate your Aims.edu student email address.
Step Two: Fill out and submit your completed Peace Officer Academy application.
Your Peace Officer Academy application packet will be sent to your sponsoring organization, which will forward it to you to fill out and submit.
Follow the instructions in the application packet to submit all the required documents.
