Professional Background

I have been teaching Spanish at Aims Community College since 2019. In addition, I have taught different levels of Spanish for Adams 12 School District, Thompson School District, Boulder Valley School and Greeley High Schools. I taught Spanish for 12 years in Alajuela, Costa Rica where I developed Spanish programs for the Instituto Cultural de Idiomas. I also owned a Language School in Costa Rica, where I offered groups classes to adults and children in learning Spanish and English.

Personal Interests

I was born in Lima, Peru. Since I was a child, I have had a passion for learning languages. My parents spoke Quechua besides Spanish. I wanted to communicate with my grandma who did not speak Spanish, so I learned some Quechua. I also enjoyed learning English in high school and took more advanced English classes for two years at the Instituto Cultural Peruano in Lima Peru. I love travelling and seeing new places with my husband and becoming immersed in the culture and history of different countries. My goal is to visit every Spanish-speaking country in the world. I have visited roughly half of the 22 countries where Spanish is spoken.

In my free time I love to knit and make jewelry. In the spring and summer, I like to work in my garden growing flowers and fresh veggies. I also love spending time with my granddaughter.
