Professional Background
I grew up in a small town in Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin for my bachelor’s degree. I began research as an undergrad and stayed to complete my research project in graduate school. I looked at conversation genetics of two fish species and also used morphological analysis to determine if they were hybridizing. After obtaining my master’s degree I moved to Colorado and began working at Aims as part time faculty teaching biology and environmental science, recently moving into a full-time position. I plan to begin working on a doctorate degree within the next five years.
Personal Interests
I love being outside hiking and exploring and looking for wildlife along the way. I also love puzzles, escape rooms, and scavenger hunts. These typically make their way into my classroom as well.
