One of the highlights of this annual event is the ability for community members to purchase plane rides in aircraft piloted by Aims flight instructors.  Airplane rides are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are now on sale. Airplane rides cost $45 per person—the purchased flights fund scholarships for future aviation students at Aims Community College.

Aims Aviation Day offers flights between 8 a.m. and  2 p.m. You can select a preferred two-hour window to better plan your fun-filled day. Flight times are estimates only. Aims does its best to ensure an effective and expeditious event; however, flight times are subject to change. Two to three people will be in an aircraft at a time.

All flights are pre-sold; tickets are unavailable for day-of sales. Flights are contingent on the weather.

Chief Flight Instructor Alex Wernsman says community members enjoy the flights because “it's cool to get to fly in a small airplane, to fly over your community at about a thousand feet, to see from not that high up the stunning landscape we have with the mountains in the background.  It's a little bit of a realization for many people just how beautiful Colorado is and what we have available to us in our backyard.”
