Alquist 3D, a 3D printing construction technology company, in partnership with Aims Community College, launched a new training course that offers students a gateway to job opportunities in the rapidly growing field of 3D-printed homes and infrastructure.
Aims Community College and Alquist 3D Offer Online 3D Concrete Printing Course
“Aims is thrilled to work alongside Alquist 3D to provide education and training in this revolutionary field,” said Dr. Leah L. Bornstein, Aims Community College CEO and president. “Our goal is to give learners valuable foundational knowledge that will help them thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.”
The fully online, four-module, 30-hour certificate course will begin to be offered in Summer 2024. The modest $250 tuition makes entry-level 3D-printing education affordable. The course will fuel collaboration between Alquist 3D and Aims students and faculty on future residential and infrastructure projects.
“We believe 3D printing is the gateway for people to enter an evolving and cutting-edge trade,” said Alquist 3D Founder and Chairman Zachary Mannheimer. “Developing this curriculum in collaboration with Aims Community College has been an exciting step toward achieving our shared vision of robust job training and workforce development for 3D printing construction.”
The course delivers essential knowledge about 3D printing technology and carbon-neutral material processes vital to a career in this innovative new discipline. The curriculum includes an overview of history and process, robotics, material science, and design.
Greeley Set to Become the Heart of 3D Construction Innovation
Alquist 3D moved its company headquarters to Greeley last fall. The ability to find and train people to begin careers with Alquist 3D was top of mind and integral to the company’s move to the area.
“This training course is one of several key pieces laying the groundwork to make Greeley and our region a hub for 3D construction printing,” said Marilyn Schock, chair of the Aims Board of Trustees. “Building a skilled workforce in this innovative industry will boost the economic success of our community overall.”
Aims and Alquist 3D plan to grow and expand the curriculum in the future. This online course is the first step in formalizing workforce development and training in this industry.
