The Spotlight Speaker Series is designed to foster connections and inspire important and stimulating conversations for individuals and organizations in our community and beyond. Featuring a diverse set of viewpoints and areas of expertise, the lineup for the first series includes thought leaders with backgrounds in social psychology, neuromedicine, military leadership and aviation.

The following includes details on each speaker:

Dr. Amy Cuddy | September 24, 2025
Personal Power and Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Challenges
Our biggest challenges call us to be calmly confident, focused, and open to hearing others. Often, we approach these high-pressure interactions with fear, execute with anxiety and distraction, and leave with regret. Based on her best-selling book Presence, Dr. Cuddy draws from psychology and neuroscience research, personal narratives, and her own challenges. Audiences will leave with a fresh, life-changing perspective on themselves and their interactions and a set of simple techniques they can use to harness their power and presence, freeing them to perform and interact at their very best — and empower others to do the same.

Leif Babin | October 30, 2025
Extreme Ownership
Gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental leadership principles of Extreme Ownership, and how to implement them in real time. When applied, these lessons make better leaders and change the culture of organizations. The lessons are pragmatic, applicable, and geared toward all levels of leadership from the C-suite to the front lines.

Dr. Myron Rolle | February 4, 2026
Inspired Leadership: Learning from the Giants
In this moving and inspiring talk, Dr. Myron Rolle offers a transformational perspective on leadership. He shares how, as a young man, reading authors like Kofi Annan, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, W. E. B. Du Bois, Booker T. Washington, and Ben Carson made a huge impression on him and provided a foundation for him to think of himself as a future leader. Dr. Rolle shares three strategies for becoming a true leader inspired by the lessons learned from these leadership giants. Attendees will leave feeling uplifted and empowered, with actionable strategies for improving their leadership abilities.

Ambassador “Sully” Sullenberger | March 25, 2026
Leading Your Team to Success
How you prepare, train and lead makes all the difference when confronted with a challenge. Ambassador ‘Sully’ Sullenberger highlights the importance of education and preparedness and illustrates that true leaders must always lead by example. A lifelong safety advocate, Ambassador ‘Sully’ Sullenberger served as U.S. Ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization, addressing global aviation challenges. Sullenberger became internationally renowned when he, as Captain, safely guided US Airways Flight 1549 to an emergency water landing in New York City’s Hudson River, during what has been called the “Miracle on the Hudson.”

An Invitation to Learn, Grow, and Be Inspired

All talks will occur at Aims Community College’s Welcome Center Miller Auditorium at 4901 20th Street on the Greeley Campus.

The series is the first of an annual tradition the college intends to make, bringing a variety of well-known speakers to share compelling stories and ideas with the broader Northern Colorado community.

“The Aims Welcome Center was built for the entire community to experience opportunities like this,” said Dr. Leah L. Bornstein, Aims Community College CEO and President.

“We are excited to bring these four speakers to challenge us in our thinking and growth.”
