Aims was a partner of this year’s Colorado Gives / Weld County Collaboration along with 30 other nonprofits in the county to encourage residents to support local non-profit organizations,

“This generous contribution from the Blue Ocean Foundation will directly help students who are in need via the Aims’ Student Emergency Fund,” said Aims President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “This grant will help ensure we can support students while they receive high quality education and training to become future workers in our community.”

The Blue Ocean Foundation targeted Colorado Gives Day as an opportunity to impact new partners with a few new grants. The Aims Foundation was chosen as a recipient because it furthered Blue Ocean's mission of promoting economic development.

“Grant support from our community partners and local foundations is essential to building student support,” said Kelly Jackson, executive director of the Aims Community College Foundation. “We are very grateful for the $5,000 grant from the Blue Ocean Foundation, which is demonstration of their confidence in our programs.”

A recent study by EMSI stated Aims has an annual economic impact of $388.3 million and impacts 6,833 jobs. The majority of the impact is created by alumni with 95 percent of Aims’ students staying in Colorado after achieving educational goals.

The Blue Ocean Foundation is the charitable arm of Blue Ocean Enterprises located in Fort Collins. Its Give to Grow mission promotes healthy economic development in the community, and the Foundation exists as a facilitator for that growth.
