Tammy Ortiz - Memorial Scholarship

I am writing to thank you for the amazing scholarship I received on behalf of your Memorial Scholarship.

I am a full-time student at Aims and have found the college experience immensely fulfilling.

I am currently studying political science with two remaining semesters at Aims, and I plan on transferring to the University of Northern Colorado in Fall 2016. I am hoping to intern with the governor or another similar office next summer. I am also interested in becoming involved in prison reform at some level.

Aims is an extremely welcoming community, and I have been privileged to serve on the Catalyst Advisory Committee, participate in a couple of Aims videos, attend several conferences and retreats, and serve on the Student Government Association.

I am married and have two grown children, one granddaughter and a grandson on the way. I also volunteer part time at LAM (Loved Ones Against Meth) Ministries, a sober living center in downtown Greeley. We assist addicts in obtaining and maintaining a sober lifestyle, while restoring them with their families and communities. It is a great organization, and I am blessed to be part of it.

Again, I thank you for this generous scholarship. If you ever are interested in hearing more of my career plans I would be delighted to meet with you sometime in the future.

Sincerely,

Tammy Ortiz
