The Aims Allied Health and Sciences Building is a state-of-the-art medical and natural sciences learning facility located on the Greeley campus. Hands-on training in fully equipped classrooms support students in the academic areas of biology, chemistry, physics, geology and more.

Many Aims healthcare degree and certificate program departments are located in the Allied Health and Sciences Building, including instructors and staff for the allied health professional, nursing and medical preparation programs. See the full list of degree and certificate programs below. 

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs are based at the Aims Public Safety Institute on the Windsor Campus.

Single-occupancy, all-gender bathrooms are available in rooms 112 and 212.

A Mamava Lactation Pod is available on the ground floor, near the North entrance.

Aims surgical technology associate degree students get hands-on experience practicing using surgical equipment.
Aims radiologic technology students get plenty of hands-on practice.

Academic Programs at the Allied Health and Sciences Building

Allied Health Professional

Associate of Applied Science
This degree track offers five paths: study healthcare law and ethics, diseases, and pharmacology for medical assistants and customize your allied health professional coursework that matches your career goal. You can focus on becoming a medical clinical assistant, a nurse aide, a phlebotomist, a front office medical assistant or a sterile instrument technician.
Gain the skills to become a medical clinical assistant. Learn to perform blood draws, injections, EKGs and urinalysis, electronic medical records (EHR) and get practice in providing direct patient care.
Gain the skills to become a medical administrative assistant. Learn medical business-related tasks including insurance billing and coding, electronic health records (EHR), medical office financial management and patient scheduling.
The Aims medical preparation certificate program is a great way for high school students to explore different aspects of healthcare, including emergency response, medical terminology and nurse aide skills. Gain real-world experience through volunteering and on-the-job training.

Nursing

Associate of Applied Science
Study fundamental and advanced nursing skills including microbiology, pharmacology, surgical nursing, maternal-child nursing and psychiatric and mental health nursing. Train to prepare for the NCLEX RN exam, which will allow you to apply for jobs as a Registered Nurse.
Gain the skills to become a phlebotomist at a hospital, clinic, lab or medical practice. Study and practice venipuncture, capillary puncture and special collection procedures, and learn quality control, infection prevention and laboratory computer systems.

Radiologic Technology

Associate of Applied Science
Learn the fundamentals of radiologic equipment, anatomy and disease pathology, radiographic terminology, safety standards and techniques, radiologic procedures and radiographic specialties including pediatrics, geriatrics and trauma. Note: you must have an associate degree in radiologic technology to apply for the mammography certificate program. This class is offered online only with two days of hands-on positioning on the Greeley Campus that are required. Clinical internships follow until students complete a minimum of 120 exams. Students should plan to drive up to a hour in both directions to attend clinical rotations.

Surgical Technology

Associate of Applied Science
Study the fundamentals that will help you start your career as a surgical technologist including human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, medical terminology, the fundamentals of surgical technology, surgical pharmacology and surgical procedures. Gain direct practice in various surgical procedures, including neurosurgery, spinal surgery and orthopedic surgery.
