• Possess an active, unencumbered Colorado nurse aide certification
• Possess a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
• Be no less than 18 years of age
• Complete no less than 1000 hours of documented work as a CNA within the last 24 months or the equivalent for individuals from the United States military
• Possess a recommendation to become a medication aide from the CNA’s current supervising nurse, director of nursing, or nursing home administrator
• Proof of completion of state-approved nurse aide training program
• Students will need to pass a basic English and Math test, which will be administered on the first day of class
• Background check/Drug Screening (Student Pays Fee)
• Immunization records

This course is for individuals who already have experience working as Certified Nurse Aides and want to become certified medication aides in Colorado. It is ideal for certified nursing assistants interested in gaining the skills to administer medications in long-term care or home health settings.

Upon successful completion of the Colorado Medication Aide Training Program and passing the state certification exam, students will be certified as Medication Aides in the state of Colorado.
