The Greeley School District's Career and Technical Education Center allows enrolled high school students to earn industry certificates and     
concurrent enrollment college credit through Aims Community College.

WEL 1010 - Advanced Shielded Metal Arc I

Covers Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) operations utilizing a variety of electrodes and advanced joint designs. Course is not repeatable for credit.

Covers pipe welding operations utilizing the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process in a variety of positions on carbon steel. Course is not repeatable for credit.

CNG 1020 - A+ Certification Preparation

Prepares students for the CompTIA A+ certification examination. PC hardware and operating system installation, configuration and troubleshooting are practiced and reviewed using A+ techniques. Course is not repeatable for credit.

AEC 2640 - Contracts and the Legal Environment

Introduces different types of contracts, legal requirements, and liabilities that are related to the construction industry. This course also focuses on contracting parties and their legal options and obligations when they interact during the construction phases. Specifications as an important part of the construction documents will be introduced. Course is not repeatable for credit.

AEC 2700 - International Building Codes

A study is made of the restrictions, standards, and requirements that in the interest of public safety and welfare have been established by law to govern the construction of buildings and their materials. Specifications are developed to describe building materials to be furnished and how they are to be installed. Course is not repeatable for credit.

CON 1062 - National Center for Construction Education & Research Electrical I

Introduces the fundamentals of electrical trades and practices in residential application. Topics in this course include orientation to the electrical trade, electrical safety, basic electrical circuits, electrical theory, introduction to the National Electrical Code, device boxes, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, basic electrical construction drawings, residential electrical services, electrical test equipment, and basic installation techniques. Course is not repeatable for credit.

CON 1064 - National Center for Construction Education & Research Electrical III

Introduces the fundamentals of electrical trades and practice in residential application. Topics covered include load calculations for branch and feeder circuits, conductor selection and calculations for installation, practical applications of lighting, hazardous locations, overcurrent protection, distribution equipment, transformers, commercial electrical services, motor calculations, voice, data, and video systems, and motor controls. Department approval is required. Course is not repeatable for credit.

CNG 1032 - Network Security Fundamentals

Delivers a comprehensive overview of network security, including general security concepts. Communication Security is studied, including remote access, e-mail, the Web, directory and file transfer, and wireless data. Common network attacks are introduced. Cryptography basics are incorporated, and operational/organizational security is discussed as it relates to physical security, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Computer forensics is introduced. Course is not repeatable for credit.

Provides students with the opportunity to supplement coursework with practical work experience related to their educational program. Students work under the immediate supervision of experienced personnel at the education facility and with the direct guidance of the instructor. Exposes the student to the field of digital computer forensics and investigation. This class provides the student with methods to properly conduct a digital forensics investigation including a discussion of ethics.
