This initiative is designed to benefit the local musical and broader performing community and Aims students enrolled in audio, video, and television production programs. Participating performers will perform live, with their performances professionally recorded and edited by Aims students, resulting in polished audio and video files that performers can use for promotion.
Call for Bands and Artists
- Performers of all genres can apply.
- Submit your application at aims.co/lisa-registration by the priority deadline of February 17. The final deadline is March 1.
- Applicants must provide details, including past performances and sample recordings.
Selected Live in Studio A 2025 participants will receive the following:
- Professional-quality video and audio recordings of their performance.
- Exposure through Aims’ YouTube channel and social media platforms.
- Opportunities to network with Aims students and staff in media-related fields.
Live studio performances will occur between March 24 and 28 on the Aims Community College Greeley Campus if selected.
Nicole Rivera, program coordinator, encourages artists to take advantage of this opportunity. “This program is a win-win. Performers get incredible promotional materials, and students gain experience they can’t get anywhere else.”
Commitment to Student Success
First launched in 2010, Live in Studio A provides hands-on learning opportunities for students, offering real-world challenges in a professional studio environment. As Dev Multer, Aims’ Media Production Coordinator, explains, “For the students, it’s an opportunity to be part of live production. They get to feel the pressure, preparing them for the real world.” Live in Studio A provides students with experience and examples when looking for future employment. “This gives our students something to put on their demo reel,” Multer continued. “Whether they were a technical director, ran a camera, or mixed sound, they can walk away with real, valuable experience.”
Patrick Hesse, the Manager of the Aims Radio Station, has seen students get more engaged in video and audio production after they get that live experience. “Students often say, ‘This is what I want to do.’ It’s when all the book learning and technical skills click, and they see how it all comes together in a real-world scenario.”
The program has grown to include collaborations with graphic design and animation students, who contribute to branding and promotional materials for the program. “It’s all about creating a multi-disciplinary experience,” Hesse said. “Students get to see how everything comes together in a live production, from audio engineering to video direction to graphic design.”
