Counseling Resources

Counseling Services has put together a list of resources to help students trying to cope with stress, anxiety and depression or going through other personal or relational struggles.

If you are going through any of this, we also encourage you to contact the counseling team to receive free and confidential mental health counseling. Please remember that while the CARE and Counseling teams are dedicated to supporting you, we are unable to provide walk-in or crisis services. In the event of a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. If you or someone you care about is experiencing mental health concerns, please call 988 or visit 988 LIFELINE for immediate support.

Screening Tools

Screening tools can help people understand and make decisions about their own mental health, especially at the earliest stages of concern. This is when intervention can be most effective in building resiliency and change.

Disclaimer: The results of these screens are not conclusive. Your results will come with an explanation, but it is important that you consult with your doctor, Aims therapist or another trusted healthcare provider. This is a great time to start a conversation and empower yourself with the resources to find the best treatment for you or a loved one.

ScreenU is a web-based tool that administers screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) to college students about their substance use. ScreenU provides feedback and strategies to reduce your risk for experiencing negative consequences from substance misuse. You can utilize the ScreenU tools below.

ScreenU for Alcohol

ScreenU for Cannabis

ScreenU for Prescription Drugs

Veterans Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality and comprehensive support to student veterans.

For assistance finding and connecting with community resources please contact the Aims CARE program.

A student who has a complaint, issue, concern or problem with a college employee, department, another student or an instructional situation should attempt to visit with the individual or office to find a resolution.

If a student has attempted to resolve a situation and feels they need support to resolve a situation they should complete the online Student Informal Complaint report. Once a report has been submitted, the student will be contacted to set up a meeting with a complaint process liaison. More information about the Student Informal Complaint process can be found here.

If working with and through the Informal Complaint process does not lead to a resolution, the student will be referred to another institutional process.
