Acute Care Nurse Aide Requirements
This five-week Advanced CNA program gives you 90 hours of theory, lab and clinical learning training in acute care settings.
Note that this program has limited space and specific admission requirements you must meet before applying.
Upon admission, you’ll learn to perform advanced CNA skills, including patient communication, urinary and nutritional care, and respiratory and cardiac monitoring. In a clinical course, you’ll have the chance to apply everything you’ve learned while working with patients in a hospital setting.
Certificate Requirements
NUA 1071 - Clinical: Advanced Nurse Aide

Course Prerequisites
NUA 1074 with a grade of "C" or better, may be taken concurrently.
NUA 1074 - Acute Care Nurse Aide Skills
Explores the role of the acute care nurse aide in communication, safety issues and advanced nurse aide skills. Knowledge will be gained regarding patient findings to report to the nurse, and I will be proficient in the performance of advanced acute care nurse aide skills. Caring for patients going to surgery or for special procedures will be discussed and patient rights in the acute care setting will be explored. Department approval is required.
