Aims Community College strongly believes higher education should be financially within reach for as many people as possible. Thanks in part to the Aims Foundation, programs like the Aims Strong Start Scholarship are designed to help make college accessible and affordable.

How it works

There’s no application fee — or application! — and no need to apply for FAFSA to qualify.

  • All you need to do is enroll at Aims as an:

    1. In-district
    2. First-time college student
    3. Enrolled in six or more credits per semester
    4. Seeking a degree or certificate
    5. For the fall semester by August 1st of the year you plan to attend.

If you meet these criteria, your scholarship funds will be automatically added to your Aims account each semester of your first year.

  • How funding works

The amount you receive depends on the number of credits you’re enrolled in per semester.

    • 12 credits = $1000 ($500 per semester your first year)
    • 9 credits = $750 ($375 per semester your first year)
    • 6 credits = $500 ($250 per semester your first year)

Half the scholarship amount is disbursed in the fall and half in the spring.

Your Aims application is reviewed by the Registration and Records Office to determine whether you are an in-district student.

The Aims tax district covers most of Weld County, excluding the Mead, Dacono, Erie, Frederick and Firestone areas.

Tuition residency classification is guided by Colorado Statute (§23-7-101, et seq.). Students must be physically present in Colorado for 365 days and have ties to the state (e.g., Driver's license, voter registration, etc).
