The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (IR&A) serves the college by providing high-quality, meaningful information and analyses needed to make data-driven decisions, build a culture of evidence, and to manage college operations effectively. Assessment
Collaborates, guides, and provides resources for intentional assessment practices to encourage a college-wide culture of evidence. The primary goal is to strengthen the quality of Aims' programs, services, operations, and processes, ultimately enhancing student learning, development, and success.
Institutional Research
Works collaboratively with all college community members in collecting, analyzing and distributing data and information to support institutional management, operations, decision-making, planning and external reporting functions. The office assists with systematically evaluating all areas of the college to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the institution.
The Executive Vice President, Russ Rothamer, oversees the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.

Institutional Review Board
Aims encourages and supports the scholarly endeavors of students, faculty, and staff of the College. Pursuit of scholarly work and research will often involve the use of human subjects for data collection and analysis. The Aims Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews human subject research proposals to protect the welfare of human subjects.
Ensures that required federal, state, accreditation, and grant reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Works to provide data and information regarding observable patterns, forecasts and risk assessment for the college.
Endeavors to produce information in a variety of formats to allow data consumers easy access to information needed.
Spearheads college-wide efforts to organize and maintain our data to meet our ongoing information needs and works with the Data Governance Committee to support their operations.
Works with the accreditation team to ensure that all information needed for accreditation and compliance is provided in a timely fashion.
Prvides conceptual, analytical, and logistical support for college-wide planning activities.
Works with assessment personnel to provide high-quality data needed in order to accurately assess the effectiveness of all college functions.
Provides high-quality data and information needed for both the grants application process and for ongoing grant reporting.
